James Haddington set up Haddington Agricultural Services in 2014 with a clear goal — to build a successful agriculture and haulage contracting business. What began with a single tractor has grown into a trusted name in agricultural contracting, haulage and lorry-mounted crane hire.
In April 2021 the company became Haddington Contracting Ltd — and our exceptional service remains the same.
James Haddington set up Haddington Agricultural Services in 2014, determined to build a successful agriculture and haulage contracting business. His interest in farming had begun a few years earlier, working a local farm during the school summer holidays — going on to study Level 3 Land Based Engineering at Riseholme and a degree in Agriculture at Bishop Burton before deciding to become self-employed.
After two successful years, the opportunity arose to expand into the haulage sector with the purchase of the business’ first articulated lorry — a Scania tractor unit and articulated fridge trailer.
An exciting year brought the arrival of a Scania HIAB crane lorry with a 45ft step-frame low loader, making machinery, cabins and containers far easier to move. The company is also able to carry hazardous products.
Increased demand saw the arrival of a second Scania HIAB crane lorry. Working more and more in the lorry-mounted crane sector, Haddington has become a leading HIAB company in the area.
In April 2021 the company name changed to Haddington Contracting Ltd. The team, the standards and our exceptional service remain exactly the same.
Haddington Contracting Ltd continues to grow — now delivering refrigerated transport and specialist services to the renewable energy sector, alongside our agricultural contracting, haulage and HIAB crane hire.
